Just Beyond: The Horror at Happy Landings First Look: "BOOM! Studios today revealed a brand new look at JUST BEYOND: THE HORROR AT HAPPY LANDINGS, from R.L. Stine, the award-winning, bestselling author of Goosebumps and Fear Street, artists Kelly & Nichole Matthews (Pandora’s Legacy), letterer Mike Fiorentino, and featuring a cover by Julian Totino Tedesco (Life of Captain Marvel). This new original graphic novel takes readers to the supposedly serene camping grounds of the forest preserve at Happy Landings where things take a decidedly terrifying turn when the Walden family encounters a pair of body-snatching aliens, in stores May 2020.

Family camping trips are supposed to be fun, but for the Walden family, they’re an absolute nightmare! After a creepy, unidentified bird attacks their mom in the forest, Parker, and Annie find themselves face to face with two strange creatures that suddenly enter the kids’ brains and take control of their bodies. Can Parker and Annie break loose of this horrific control and convince their family of what’s happening, or will the creatures take over their lives for good?

JUST BEYOND is published through the company’s award-winning KaBOOM! imprint, marking the first time R.L. Stine has originated new concepts in the comic book medium as part of his multi-book agreement with the publisher. With the release of his debut novel Blind Date in 1981, R.L. Stine established himself as one of the most important voices in horror for a new generation. This was followed up with the release of Fear Street in 1989, which remains the best-selling YA series in history with more than 100 books published thus far, and Goosebumps in 1992, which transformed Stine into a worldwide celebrity. The series was soon adapted as a hit TV series and recently returned as a blockbuster film starring Jack Black in 2015 from Sony/Columbia Pictures, with a sequel hitting theaters October 12, 2018. Casting Details for Chasing Nightmares: "Specter Pictures, the new genre label recently launched as part of producer David Brown’s Clear Horizon, announced today that Anne Heche, Graham McTavish, and Michelle Randolph are set to star in the horror/thriller CHASING NIGHTMARES. The first film under this new banner will be written and directed by Christopher McGowan, produced by David Brown for Specter Pictures and Todd Lundbohm for 828 Productions and will be financed by 828 Media Capital. McGowan’s Perth Road Productions will also produce. Spencer Daniels, Aubrey Cleland, Jay Huguley, and Dana Daurey round out the cast, with the film currently shooting in Los Angeles.

While the majority of the plot is being kept under wraps, the film surrounds a college student (Michelle Randolph) who risks her and her friends’ lives to track down the meaning behind the nightmares she has about a girl and a delusional masked man.

Anne Heche is an author, a Tony-nominated and Emmy-winning actress who recently starred in the independent film Thirteen Minutes, STX Entertainment’s The Best of Enemies with Taraji P. Henson and Sam Rockwell and on NBC’s “Chicago P.D.” Some of Heche’s most iconic films include Six Days & Seven Nights with Harrison Ford, Volcano with Tommy Lee Jones, Wag the Dog with Robert De Niro and Dustin Hoffman, Donnie Brasco with Johnny Depp and Al Pacino, John Q with Denzel Washington, Catfight with Sandra Oh. Heche recently reprised her role in a performance of the Twentieth Century with Alec Baldwin on Broadway.

McTavish is best known for the TV series “Outlander” and for his role in THE HOBBIT TRILOGY. He was also recently seen in AQUAMAN.

Randolph is best known for roles in A SNOW WHITE CHRISTMAS and HOUSE OF THE WITCH.

Clear Horizon recently launched the prestige project A WAR OF THEIR OWN directed by Bille August at the American Film Market. Brown, who exec produced AFTER THE WEDDING, launched Clear Horizon last year and with these projects further cementing his stake as a producer of high caliber content in a multitude of genres.

The first horror film Tamika watched was Child's Play. Being eight years old at the time, she remembers being so scared when Chucky came to life that she projectile vomited.
