THE DJINN: "The story follows a mute twelve-year-old, Dylan Jacobs, as he discovers a mysterious book of spells inside his new apartment. Grieving the loss of his mother, and feeling isolated from everyone except for his father, Dylan performs a ritual that promises to deliver his heart’s desire: to have a voice. But he soon discovers that every gift has a toll when a sinister djinn arrives to collect his soul. Now trapped in his new home with nowhere to hide, Dylan must find a way to survive until the stroke of midnight or pay the ultimate price."

THE STRANGE MONSTER AT THE RIVERA HOUSE: "My name is Esteban Bailey and I am obsessed with movies, but more specifically horror movies.  I would often gravitate to those made outside of the United States, in places like Brazil, Japan, and Spain. But that always made me wonder: why aren't there many horror films made about the place I’m from, Puerto Rico?

Despite being a US territory, only a small number of Americans on the continent have had the pleasant experience of enjoying the magnificent cinema that is produced in Puerto Rico. The world deserves to be exposed to the unique narrative that our island's cinematic history has produced over the last century.

We want to help change that.

My horror short, The Strange Monster at the Rivera House is an alternative horror film set in Puerto Rico, starring Puerto Ricans with a majority Puerto Rican crew.

The film will be a part of a new generation of storytellers emerging from the island of Puerto Rico, telling new stories in wild and imaginative ways that capture global attention.

Our Puerto Rican New Wave.

We would be tremendously grateful for your support. If you would like to speak with me about our film or our mission to tell Puerto Rican stories, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

I hope to see all of you soon at the Rivera House…"
