His film journey began in a convenience store, but now he's taking viewers to a remote place in the wilderness that's far away from the safety of the snack aisle. In Kevin Smith's upcoming horror film Tusk, a journalist thinks he's found the perfect interview in a worldwide traveler and walrus lover, but all he's really discovered is a gateway to a painful transformation at the hands of a psychopath. Tusk will hit theaters this fall and Kevin Smith recently revealed his movie's first official poster.

Here's what Kevin had to say about the poster and the film via Facebook:

"Behold... The TUSK Poster! Official FB page: https://www.facebook.com/TusktheMovie

One year ago from this moment, I was writing a script based on a then-recent episode of SModcast. One year later, I present to you the poster for the actual movie! At http://TuskTheMovie.com/ you can hear a truncated version of the podcast from whence the picture came, SModcast 259: The Walrus & The Carpenter. I'll show the first trailer in 2 weeks, during my Hall H panel at Comic-Con. A24 releases the flick in the states this fall, with Sony International handing lots of the distribution in the non-U.S. marketplace.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? I am in love with the poster. Captures the movie perfectly. Big thanks to the folks at Ignition who designed it!"

"TUSK follows Wallace (Long) a journalist on a mission. He finds the story of a lifetime in Mr. Howe (Parks), a worldwide adventurer with amazing tales and a curious penchant for walruses."

Tusk is directed and written by Kevin Smith based on a conversation he had with friend Scott Mosier in the 259th episode of SModcast, titled The Walrus & The Carpenter. The film stars Justin Long as Wallace the journalist, Michael Parks as the walrus-obsessed Mr. Howe, Haley Joel Osment as Wallace's best friend, and Genesis Rodriguez as Wallace's girlfriend.
