Join us on a descent into Hell as we kick off a new retrospective series on the Hellraiser franchise on this episode of Daily Dead's official podcast!

Following the footsteps of Dante's trip through the domains of the dead in the Divine Comedy, we begin our Hellraiser retrospective series by visiting Hell and diving into the last five Hellraiser movies: Hellseeker, Deader, Hellworld, Revelations, and Judgment.

Corpse Club co-hosts Bryan Christopher and Jonathan James are joined by special guests Joe Lipsett (co-host of the Horror Queers podcast) and Annie Rose Malamet (host of the Girls, Guts, & Giallo podcast), who serve as our guides through Hell as we discuss our introductions to the Hellraiser series, why many of the later films miss the mark, what we like about them, our favorite and least favorite of the bunch, and we also talk about what we want from the future of the franchise.

This is only the beginning of our Hellraiser retrospective, as Lipsett and Malamet will re-join us in the coming months when we discuss Hellraiser: Inferno, Bloodline, and Hell on Earth in our Purgatory episode and Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser II on our Heaven episode.

So, whether you've seen the entire Hellraiser franchise or you're experiencing the sights it has to show you for the first time, join us as we raise some hell of our own and reflect on the pleasure and pain of the Hellraiser films!

About the Author - Derek Anderson

Raised on a steady diet of R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps books and Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Derek has been fascinated with fear since he first saw ForeverWare being used on an episode of Eerie, Indiana.

When he’s not writing about horror as the Senior News Reporter for Daily Dead, Derek can be found daydreaming about the Santa Carla Boardwalk from The Lost Boys or reading Stephen King and Brian Keene novels.
