Fans of the Lakewood Six received the surprising news back in April that MTV would be rebooting their Scream TV series for its third season, introducing a new cast of characters and creative team behind the scenes. The big changes for the series continue to take shape, as new cast members and character details have now been revealed.

According to THR, Tyga (Michael Ray Stevenson) and C.J. Wallace will co-star in Scream Season 3, which will consist of only six episodes that will air over three nights in March of 2018. Production on the series is moving out of Louisiana and setting up shop in Atlanta, with Brett Matthews (The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural) taking over as showrunner (the third time the showrunner position has been changed in the series' three-season run).

Season 3 will focus on a yet-to-be-cast character named "Deion Elliot, a local star running back whose tragic past comes back to haunt him at the worst time, threatening his hard-earned plans for his future — and the lives of his unlikely group of friends."

Tyga will play "Jamal, Deion’s step-brother. Despite hanging out with a rough crowd, he’s got a big heart and an undying loyalty to Deion." C.J. Wallace (whose father is the late The Notorious B.I.G.), meanwhile, will play Amir, "a good kid whose strict parents expect him to keep clean during high school, stay away from girls and ultimately find his place within the family business." Amir "dreams of making music one day, an ambition he must stifle and keep to himself."

Showrunner Matthews will executive produce the third season with Queen Latifah, Shakim Conpere, Yaneley Arty, Harvey and Bob Weinstein, Tony DiSanto, Liz Gateley, Marianne Maddalena, and Cathy Konrad. The late, legendary Wes Craven will also continue to be listed as an executive producer.

We'll keep Daily Dead readers updated as more details are revealed. What are your thoughts on the Scream TV series being rebooted for season 3?
