Now that the dust has settled from the excitement over last week's Resident Evil 6 announcement, we have some new details on what you can expect from the game:
- Xbox.com is not only listing a 2-player co-op offline co-op option, but a 6-player co-op online mode.
- There is another 8-player co-op multiplayer mode listed, but specifics have not yet been revealed.
- The game has been in development for 2 years.
- A demo will be available before the release of the game. We'll be hearing more about that in the next couple of months.
- Tall Oaks is the new outbreak location. Leon's part of the story takes place here and the area is said to contain 70,000 zombies. We're assuming this is more of a story-related stat and not saying that you'll be able to interact with as many zombies as Dead Rising.
- Capcom has said that the zombies will act differently from previous Resident Evil games, but we don't know if that means that they will be more realistic or if they will have new abilities.
- The control system has been overhauled from Resident Evil 5. Watch the recently released trailer for examples of this.

Due to be by the President’s side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision. At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world’s population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left."
