Reportedly inspired by The X-Files (which is returning for a new season), the paranormal comedy series Ghosted was previously given a pilot episode order at FOX, and the network must have liked what they saw in that initial episode, because Ghosted has been ordered to series for the 2017–18 season.

Multiple outlets, including THR, are reporting the news of Ghosted moving forward at FOX. Starring Craig Robinson, Adam Scott, Ally Walker, and Adeel Akhtar, the single-camera comedy was written by Tom Gormican, who will executive produce the project with Kevin Etten (who also serves as showrunner), Jonathan Krisel, Robinson, Scott, Naomi Scott, Oly Obst, and Mark Schulman.

A premiere date and number of episodes for the first season are not yet known, but we'll keep Daily Dead readers updated as more details are revealed. In the meantime, we have the official synopsis, image (via TVGuide.com), and title art below (via The Futon Critic).

Synopsis (via The Futon Critic): "A cynical skeptic (Craig Robinson), and a genius "true believer" in the paranormal (Adam Scott), are recruited by a secret government agency to look into the rampant "unexplained" activity in Los Angeles -- all while uncovering a larger mystery that could threaten the existence of the human race."
