The Belgian film Cub validates the fear some of us have of spending the night in the woods. Cub on Blu-ray and DVD will hit stores on August 18th. Also: theatrical and digital release details for The Diabolical, HollyShorts Film Festival 2015 lineup, and Manos: The Hands of Fate soundtrack on vinyl.

Cub: Artsploitation Films will release Cub on Blu-ray and DVD on August 18th. Directed by Jonas Govaerts from a screenplay he wrote with Roel Mondelaers, Cub stars Maurice Luijten, Titus De Voogdt, Stef Aerts, Evelien Bosmans, and Jan Hammenecker.

"This dark, bloody, imaginative fairy tale about a camping trip that turns into deadly carnage draws on such influences as Lord of the Rings, Friday the 13th, and The Devil’s Backbone. The story follows 12-year-old outcast Sam who, along with his troop of cub scouts and their teenage supervisors, camp in woods rumored to house a mysterious and deadly werewolf. Inquisitive Sam, certain the woods are inhabited by something evil, soon stumbles upon a feral young boy and, eventually, his evil psychopathic mentor. But convincing the others of the danger falls on deaf ears, and soon ingenious traps begin to take their violent toll on the group. A wildly entertaining “killer in the woods” actioner.

Bonus features: Deleted scenes, SFX reel, Short film (Blu-only), Music video (Blu-only), Trailers"

The Diabolical: Courtesy of XLrator Media, The Diabolical was written and directed by Alistair Legrand and will be released in theaters, on VOD, and on iTunes on October 16th, 2015.

"When a single mother (Ali Larter) and her two young children are tormented by an increasingly strange and intense presence in their quiet suburban home, she turns to her scientist boyfriend to take on the violent forces that paranormal experts are too frightened to face.

Cast: Ali Larter, Arjun Gupta, Max Rose, Chloe Perrin, Kurt Carley, with Merrin Dungey and Patrick Fischler."

Manos: The Hands Of Fate captured the hearts and minds of B-movie aficionados everywhere since its legendary treatment by Mystery Science Theater 3000 got it the attention it sorely missed on its initial cinema release in 1966. The wonderful lo-fi jazz score by Russ Huddleston and Robert Smith Jr. is an integral part of the movie's charm and Ship to Shore PhonoCo. are proud to announce this release as part of their roster. "Thou hast taught us, O Manos, and we hath listened!  Give ear to our words, O Manos, and hear us! Hear us! Hear us!"

About the Author - Tamika Jones

Tamika hails from North Beach, Maryland, a tiny town inches from the Chesapeake Bay.She knew she wanted to be an actor after reciting a soliloquy by Sojourner Truth in front of her entire fifth grade class. Since then, she's appeared in over 20 film and television projects. In addition to acting, Tamika is the Indie Spotlight manager for Daily Dead, where she brings readers news on independent horror projects every weekend.

The first horror film Tamika watched was Child's Play. Being eight years old at the time, she remembers being so scared when Chucky came to life that she projectile vomited. It's tough for her to choose only one movie as her favorite horror film, so she picked two: Nosferatu and The Stepford Wives (1975).
