The Wretched Photos: Press Release: "Indie filmmaker Nathaniel Davis wrapped up filming "The Wretched" in well known haunted locations in Oklahoma. The film tells the story of three actresses on a road trip who stop at a haunted bed and breakfast, unbeknownst to them, the guests are used as human sacrifices by the psychotic demented owners, in their attempts to open up the gates of hell. Will they survive the night in the mansion? Beware, evil is very real and all too human, The Wretched need your pain.
The film stars newcomers Elle Rivers, Tynan Elizabeth Whitestead, but also Mia Riddle (The Abstract Heart) and Sophie Pâris (Phantasmagoria) as psychotic Ilsa. Director and writer Nathaniel Davis wanted to stay away from the clean, deadly boring, stereotypes for his characters: "When I wrote the script, I wanted to get back to Carpenter. Like anti-heroes, these are strong independent women, just because they are porn stars does not mean they are victims, or that is who they are. They are complex human beings, flawed & ambivalent at times, but as you believe and root for them, the horror of the situation they are in feels only more real and shocking! I also took great pleasure giving an homage with a very modern twist to old Hammer films, with the oppressive atmosphere of the Mansion--almost a character of the film by its haunting and eerie like quality--but also with the charismatic yet evil Ilsa--a real femme fatale--the monstrous Bear and the mad Dr. Price."
Bearded Dragon Films productions are proud to unveil a few teaser photos from the (truly haunted) film set... You can check out their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/thewretchedmovie) or website (www.thewretched-movie.com) to follow them to the heart of evil and madness."
Tamika hails from North Beach, Maryland, a tiny town inches from the Chesapeake Bay.She knew she wanted to be an actor after reciting a soliloquy by Sojourner Truth in front of her entire fifth grade class. Since then, she's appeared in over 20 film and television projects. In addition to acting, Tamika is the Indie Spotlight manager for Daily Dead, where she brings readers news on independent horror projects every weekend.
The first horror film Tamika watched was Child's Play. Being eight years old at the time, she remembers being so scared when Chucky came to life that she projectile vomited. It's tough for her to choose only one movie as her favorite horror film, so she picked two: Nosferatu and The Stepford Wives (1975).
