Spanish horror film Para Elisa (For Elisa) will arrive on DVD and VOD on September 1st. But, the DVD-palooza doesn't stop there. Also in this round-up: Honeyspider and Cop Car DVD release details and Howl-O-Scream 2015 details.

Para Elisa: Press Release: "A job at a magnificent house owned by a famous musician seems too good to be true – and it is – in the tension-filled horror film PARA ELISA. The acclaimed new Spanish film comes to DVD and VOD on September 1, 2015, from Dark Sky Films.

Desperate for some post-graduation cash, party girl Ana (Ona Casamiquela, Eva) answers a babysitting ad. She arrives for an interview at the elegant home of Diamantina (Luisa Gavasa, Flesh Memories), a former child prodigy pianist who is now an eccentric old woman who collects antique toys and dolls. Ana is disturbed by Diamantina’s odd behavior and horrified to discover that her child, Elisa (Ana Turpin, Bandolero), is not a child but rather a deranged woman her own age. Before Ana really understands what’s happening, she finds herself trapped in the house and made to serve as Elisa’s new toy – a toy that like many others before it may well be broken.

Debuting writer-director Juanra Fernandez crafts a breathless horror with PARA ELISA, a film that plays out with violent intensity and escalates to a nightmarish climax that will leave viewers asking if people are just things to be played with.

“PARA ELISA is … consistently weird and unsettling,” writes Shaun Munro of What Culture. “Ona Casamiquela proves a gorgeous, engaging lead, and the evocative cinematography of both the Spanish countryside and the icky interiors of Elisa’s home add plenty of atmosphere.”

Howl-O-Scream 2015: Press Release: "ORLANDO, Fla. — Legendary horror filmmaker Robin Cowie, who terrified movie-goers in 1999 with “The Blair Witch Project,” will lend the darkest corners of his mind to Busch Gardens® Tampa, Busch Gardens® Williamsburg and SeaWorld® San Antonio this year as producer and director of Howl-O-Scream® “Unearthed.” A Halloween rite of passage since its inception 16 years ago, Howl-O-Scream is an after-dark event featuring over-the-top haunted houses, roaming creatures, and live shows.

Cowie and his team of storytellers crafted a dark new tale — “Unearthed” — that has become Howl-O-Scream’s 2015 theme and will further unfold in the parks’ signature haunted houses. Like “The Blair Witch Project,” “Unearthed” is rooted in dark magic, unexplained phenomena, and a haunting, hair-raising story.

The collaboration between Cowie and SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is a first for both. It’s also the first time all three parks will have the same theme, the same house concept and the same villain: Scarlett. According to Cowie’s storyline, Scarlett was a village healer who turned to dark magic to avenge her husband’s killers. As her powers grew, she was hunted, trapped and buried alive deep beneath the park … but now has been “Unearthed” to summon death and destruction on unsuspecting guests.

“Working with Robin and his team has added a whole new level of horror to Howl-O-Scream,” said Janet Wagner, corporate director of entertainment/executive producer at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment.

Howl-O-Scream takes place on select nights September – October at Busch Gardens Tampa, Busch Gardens Williamsburg and SeaWorld San Antonio. Dates and times vary by location; for specific details, pricing, and tickets, go to"

About the Author - Tamika Jones

Tamika hails from North Beach, Maryland, a tiny town inches from the Chesapeake Bay.She knew she wanted to be an actor after reciting a soliloquy by Sojourner Truth in front of her entire fifth grade class. Since then, she's appeared in over 20 film and television projects. In addition to acting, Tamika is the Indie Spotlight manager for Daily Dead, where she brings readers news on independent horror projects every weekend.

The first horror film Tamika watched was Child's Play. Being eight years old at the time, she remembers being so scared when Chucky came to life that she projectile vomited. It's tough for her to choose only one movie as her favorite horror film, so she picked two: Nosferatu and The Stepford Wives (1975).
