Ahead of Z Nation's season 2 finale, The Asylum hosted a screening in Los Angeles with the creators and stars of the show in tow. Z Nation Season 2: Press Release: "Thursday, December 17 – Los Angeles – On Friday, December 18th, The Asylum is hosting a live screening of Z Nation’s season 2 finale on Syfy at the Downtown Independent theater beginning at 6:00 pm. The creators and stars will watch and tweet along with the 7:00 pm East Coast feed, followed by a reception and after-party.

Z Nation follows a ragtag group of survivors three years after the zombie apocalypse as they transport the only known survivor of the zombie virus across the United States in search of a cure. Season 1 of Z Nation was Syfy’s top-rated scripted show, and Season 2 premiered to strong ratings and glowing critical reviews.

Z Nation is created by Karl Schaefer and Craig Engler and stars Kellita Smith, Keith Allan, Matt Cedeno, Russell Hodgkinson, Anastasia Baranova, and Pisay Pao. Season 2 featured Emilio Rivera (SONS OF ANARCHY) and Gina Gershon (SHOWGIRLS) in recurring roles.

Z Nation has been renewed for a third season, which will premiere on Syfy in 2016.
