After the success of Insidious, we've been waiting to hear what James Wan's newest film would be. He's been attached to multiple horror projects this year, but it looks like Wan has settled on directing The Conjuring for New Line:

According to Variety, James Wan is already on board to direct, with Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson in final negotiations to star. The Conjuring will tell the story of a family who claimed to "live among the dead":

"The project is inspired by the true-life story of the Perron family, who claimed they "lived among the dead" in the 1970s as spirits both friendly and sinister inhabited their Rhode Island farmhouse."

James Wan also has a production deal in place with Icon Entertainment to produce 8 genre films over the next 4 years. The first film on his slate is House of Horror.
