The virtual edition of Salem Horror Fest will be taking place throughout October and they've already announced a pretty killer first wave of programming. To add to that, we have news that The Strings will have its world premiere at the fest and you can watch the teaser trailer right now:
From the Press Release: "New genre-oriented production company OBSERVER EFFECT PRODUCTIONS INC and ZED.FILM are pleased to announce that SALEM HORROR FEST will host the world premiere of Ryan Glover’s directorial debut, THE STRINGS. The festival has moved to a virtual edition this year in light of the pandemic and the film will be available on the festival’s custom streaming platform. Screening dates TBD.
A dark presence terrorizes a musician at a remote coastal cottage in this character driven haunted house film with a modern musical twist.
The film’s all female cast is headed by up and coming musician Teagan Johnston (aka Little Coyote) marking her acting debut and who also wrote and performed the film’s original music live on set. Jenna Schaefer co-stars as Grace.
Synopsis:
In the dead of winter, musician Catherine travels to her aunt’s remote cottage on the shores of Prince Edward Island to work on new material in solitude. Soon after visiting an abandoned farmhouse with local photographer Grace, strange and disturbing occurrences begin to manifest at the cottage, escalating each night and eroding Catherine’s sense of reality.

Ryan Glover is an independent filmmaker and cinematographer currently residing in Toronto, ON. He lensed the first person POV slasher feature film YOU ARE NOT ALONE which Modern Horrors named “the most lifelike and terrifying slasher in years.” In addition, he shot Sarah Rotella’s debut feature Almost Adults which screened at Austin Film Festival and Outfest. THE STRINGS marks his solo feature film directorial debut.
