David Morrissey was cast as The Governor in The Walking Dead Season 3 earlier this year. While we've already seen the first photo of Michonne, we haven't heard too much from Morrissey about his new role. However, a new TV Guide interview give us a brief update from David Morrissey on his preparation for the role. He also confirms that he'll be attending the San Diego Comic-Con:

"Besides working with an accent coach, how have you been preparing to play The Governor?

Morrissey: I've got the graphic novels but have only read Robert Kirkman's [prequel] Rise of The Governor, which I thought was brilliant. There was so much in that book that I could [use], like the desire for survival above everything else. I'm finding out what his fears, anxieties and loves are so I can make him my own.

What are you most looking forward to about joining The Walking Dead?

Morrissey: It's the right show at the right time. My family will be joining me in Atlanta. I've known Andrew Lincoln [Rick] from around London; we have mutual friends. And I get to go to Comic-Con."

The Walking Dead Season 3 is currently filming and we'll continue to bring you the latest updates as they are released. We'll also be present at this year's Comic-Con in San Diego for coverage of The Walking Dead #100 and The Walking Dead Season 3.
