Joel McHale to Guest Star on THE X-FILES

In addition to The X-Files event series featuring the return of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, respectively, we'll also see new faces pop up in Chris Carter's unpredictable world, including Joel McHale.

According to Variety, in The X-Files event series, McHale (Community, Deliver Us From Evil) will guest star as "Tad O’Malley, a conservative news anchor who becomes an unlikely ally for Fox Mulder."

Executive produced, written, and directed by series creator Carter, The X-Files six-episode event series will premiere on Sunday, January 24th, between 10:00pm - 11:00pm EST after the NFC Championship game on Fox. The second half of the two-part premiere will air at 8:00pm EST the following night on Monday, January 25th, with subsequent episodes also airing on Monday nights. Filming on the event series begins this month.
