Universal Pictures Schedules Jordan Peele’s Next Movie for March 2019 Release

Not long after entering a two-year, first-look deal with Universal Pictures, Get Out director Jordan Peele now has a release date for his next movie, a yet-to-be-titled social thriller.

Multiple outlets, including THR, reveal that Peele's upcoming film is scheduled to come out in theaters on March 15th, 2019.

While plot details for Jordan's next film—which he will write, direct, and produce—are under wraps, it's expected to have a budget"about five times bigger" than the $5 million Peele utilized to make Get Out, which has grossed $230 million globally since Universal gave it a wide theatrical release in February.

Peele's Monkeypaw Productions is teaming up with Universal Pictures in the first-look deal, giving Universal the first shot at releasing Peele's projects. Under the new deal, Peele will also produce films and look to team up with Jason Blum (whose Blumhouse Productions helped support Get Out) on small-budget movies.

Additionally, it was recently announced that Peele and J.J. Abrams will team up to executive produce Lovecraft Country, an HBO series adaptation of Matt Ruff's novel of the same name.
