It was recently announced that The Walking Dead will make its broadcast television debut on MyNetworkTV this fall:
"AMC, Twentieth Television and the FOX Television Stations announce the addition of ‘The Walking Dead’ to the MyNetworkTV programming lineup. Scheduled to make its exclusive broadcast television debut this fall, the announcement was made by Frank Cicha, SVP of Programming of the FOX Television Stations, Greg Meidel, president of 20th Television, and Charlie Collier, president of AMC.
Two episodes from previously aired seasons of ‘The Walking Dead’ will be presented on a designated weeknight on MyNetworkTV.
“This agreement extends the reach of the number one show on television among adults 18-49 by giving viewers primetime access to ‘The Walking Dead’ with back-to-back episodes on broadcast television one night a week," said Charlie Collier, AMC president. ‘The Walking Dead’ has grown in each of its first four seasons on AMC, and we look forward to exposing this compelling story and these unforgettable characters to new fans on MyNetworkTV.”
Among adults 18-49, ‘The Walking Dead’ is currently the number one series on television, across all cable and broadcast networks, and the number one cable drama series of all time.
Greg Meidel of Twentieth Television added: “We are fired up that MyNetworkTV will be the exclusive broadcast home to ‘The Walking Dead’. As we enter the 2014 upfronts, the blockbuster program, which breaks the mold of conventional television, further enhances 20th Television’s media sales slate of hit comedies, dramas and first-run programming.”
With programming on Monday through Friday, MyNetworkTV reaches over 97% of the country; airing on the FOX Television Stations in each of the top 3 markets including New York (WWOR My9), Los Angeles (KCOP My 13), and Chicago (WPWR My 50). This season, MyNetworkTV ranks #5 in Households, #8 in A18-49 and #7 in 25-54 among all broadcast and cable networks.
Frank Cicha of the FOX Television Stations added: “It's not often you get to add the hottest show on the planet to your lineup. We just did, and it's a tremendous get for our stations.”"
