Hands reaching through the stairs, a chainsaw revving up in the distance, a butcher knife dangling from a baby crib mobile... At this point in time, not much is known about the sixth season of American Horror Story, but the first teaser videos hint at several types of scary situations.

Initially released by FX on Snapchat, the new American Horror Story promos give glimpses of what to expect in the latest season of Ryan Murphy's horror anthology series.

The first video features a farmhouse surrounded by a sea of crops. A massive "6" made of smoke slithers out of the chimney while a chainsaw begins churning far away, followed by a scream.

Another video follows barefoot feet scurrying down metal stairs (not exactly the type of basement steps you'd find at grandma's house). Scarred arms—some of them even singed—reach through the gaps of the stairwell, seeking a grasp on the fleeing person's flesh. One hand succeeds.

Perhaps most disturbing of all, a third video focuses on a baby crib mobile of sharp objects, including a question mark and a "6." The setting seems to be relatively peaceful—exceedingly creepy, yes, but still somewhat calm all things considered—until a blue hand that can only be attached to something nightmare-inducing reaches up and plucks the butcher knife from the mobile. And something tells me they aren't going to use it to dice tomatoes.
