If you're a camp counselor and you take a walk in the woods today, keep your head on a swivel: it's Friday the 13th, after all, and that means the spirit of Jason Voorhees is stronger than ever. To honor the origin of the blood-soaked Friday the 13th horror franchise and to embrace the foreboding atmosphere of the day itself, Waxwork Records has revealed the artwork and three tracks from their upcoming vinyl reissue of the influential 1980 slasher film.

Featuring original eye-grabbing art by Jay Shaw that features Camp Crystal Lake reflected in a wide open eye that likely belongs to the vengeful Mrs. Voorhees, this vinyl release includes the original violin-pulsating, voice reverberating Friday the 13th soundtrack from Harry Manfredini. The three tracks now available to listen to give a sample of the high-quality recordings listeners can expect throughout the entire album:

About the Author - Derek Anderson

Raised on a steady diet of R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps books and Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Derek has been fascinated with fear since he first saw ForeverWare being used on an episode of Eerie, Indiana.

When he’s not writing about horror as the Senior News Reporter for Daily Dead, Derek can be found daydreaming about the Santa Carla Boardwalk from The Lost Boys or reading Stephen King and Brian Keene novels.
