The latest Prometheus photo release shows a familiar design that Alien fans have been waiting to see. The two figures standing in the back of the photo clearly resemble the Space Jockey from Alien. Are these suits or statues?

In the past, H.R. Giger had mentioned that he believed the Space Jockey to be a fossilized creature, while Ridley Scott recently mentioned that he saw it as a suit that someone/something wore. Your guess is as good as ours at this point, but we'll know everything when Prometheus is released on June 8th.

“Ridley Scott, director of ‘Alien’ and ‘Blade Runner,’ returns to the genre he helped define. With ‘Prometheus’ he creates a groundbreaking mythology in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.”

Prometheus is directed by Ridley Scott and stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Patrick Wilson, and Guy Pearce. If you need to catch up on any of our recent Prometheus coverage, read our recent stories by visiting the links below:
