According to a new report, Paramount and the Paranormal Activity producers are working on a new project that is being described as a "Catholic-based paranormal mythology" horror movie.

THR reveals that Jason Blum, Oren Peli, and Christopher Landon are working together on the project, with Landon writing and directing the movie. While not part of the Paranormal Activity brand, it is a spin-off of sorts that has been described as a "cousin" to the Paranormal Activity series.

This time around, they are said to be specifically targeting a Latino audience. While the movie will be in English, it will feature a Latino cast and seems to have been prompted by The Devil Inside being very successful with that target audience. This is another micr0-budget production and is expected to begin filming within the next few months.

There are no details on the plot or cast, but if this is like the Paranormal Activity series, we probably won't hear much until it is closer to the release date. THR reports that Paramount is looking at a January 2013 spot, but nothing is set in stone at this time.
