We've updated our gallery for Carrie with two additional photos and we have news on the movie's official rating that may surprise you. It was previously said that the Carrie remake would be aimed at a more general audience, but a recent TV spot for the movie lists the official rating as R. While we rarely report on a film's rating, we thought that horror fans may be a little more interested now that they know the movie hasn't been cut down.

“The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White (Moore) and her daughter Carrie (Moretz). Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin (Greer) tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson (Portia Doubleday, Youth in Revolt), but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell (Gabriella Wilde, The Three Musketeers), regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross (newcomer Ansel Elgort), to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.”

Carrie stars Chloe Moretz, Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Gabriella Wilde, and Ansel Elgort. Directed by Kimberly Peirce, the movie will be released on October 18th in the US and November 29th in the UK. Catch up on our previous coverage by visiting the following links:
