Although horror fans have been loving Hannibal and the show is attracting new viewers every week, there was worry that NBC would not renew the series for a third season. Thankfully, NBC made a lot of people very happy today when they announced that they have officially given Hannibal a third season order.

Bryan Fuller confirmed the news over Twitter this afternoon and, while we don't have additional information on Season 3 at this time, it's likely that NBC went with a thirteen episode order like the first two seasons.

The eleventh episode of Season 2 airs tonight. When Season 2 wraps up, we expect to hear more about the direction the upcoming season will take. It's also very likely that Hannibal will have a presence at the San Diego Comic-Con this year, so expect much more information on Hannibal Season 3 in July.
