Hatchet 3 Director Announced

2011/10/01 00:13:17 +00:00 | Jonathan James

After much speculation, the director of Hatchet 3 has been revealed. Hatchet and Hatchet II cameraman BJ McDonnell will be taking over for Adam Green on the third film. McDonnell has over 10 years of experience and 100+ credits to his name, including work on Rob Zombie's Halloween and Halloween II, Battle Los Angeles, and the upcoming Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

Adam Green has every confidence in McDonnell and assures fans that he was the right choice: "BJ was not only the camera operator on the first two 'Hatchet' movies. He was there alongside me creating every shot, working closely with me to craft each scene, moment, outrageous kill, and performance... He is absolutely beloved by the entire Hatchet family and his experience on everything from huge studio films to smaller independent productions will ensure that he will do the franchise proud."

Previously released information reveals that Hatchet III will take place right where the second film left off (Spoiler Warning): “Third installment will continue the horrific saga of Victor Crowley, known as the ‘Bayou Butcher,’ and pick up where ‘Hatchet 2′ left off, with a young woman (Danielle Harris) getting revenge on the malevolent monster who killed her friends while they vacationed in Louisiana swamp country.”
