The Fountain
Mondo is excited to welcome composer Clint Mansell to MondoCon to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Darren Aronofsky's epic drama The Fountain and the release of the arrestingly beautiful score for the first time ever on vinyl. Blending elements of fantasy, historical drama, romance, spirituality and science fiction The Fountain is one of the most unique cinematic experiences of all time and has amassed a faithful following since its release in 2006. Mansell will participate in an in-depth conversation about The Fountain, the music, and its impact over the last decade. Austin's soundtrack expert Brian Satterwhite will conduct the interview following a screening of the film at MondoCon on Saturday, October 22nd.
A Clockwork Orange
Stanley Kubrick, arguably the greatest filmmaker of all time, brought Anthony Burgess's 1962 dystopian crime novel, A Clockwork Orange, to vibrant life in 1971. The film stars Malcolm McDowell as an ultra-violent Beethoven-obsessed miscreant named Alex DeLarge. Alex and his band of "droogs" wreak havoc throughout London until Alex is apprehended by authorities and forced to take part in a state-sponsored rehabilitation program called the Ludovico technique. Kubrick's gifts as a master of the medium are on full display here. A Clockwork Orange is a perfect blend of black humor, sociological commentary, science fiction, sexual politics, and music. The film improves with age in a way only Kubrick's work does. Join us to viddy a special 35mm presentation of ultra-violence and debauchery including an exclusive new poster by Rory Kurtz. You'll be cured alright.
Le Matos Live

Twenty Twenty-Four Trailer and Festival Runs: Director Richard Mundy’s feature film debut TWENTY TWENTY-FOUR is a no-budget British film, which defies convention and pushes the boundaries of what a modern independent film can be. Mundy’s vision of a low budget, conceptual Indie, more than holds its own against other costlier and more established films. TWENTY TWENTY-FOUR is entirely self-funded (by Mundy himself) and was produced without any third party backing or development behind it. Three and a half years in the making, TWENTY TWENTY-FOUR has been a labour of love for Mundy and his small team of collaborators. Consisting of a core cast and crew of just 10 people, 7 during production and 3 in post-production; TWENTY TWENTY-FOUR is a testament to the creative spirit of its crew and the technological advances of the digital age.
SYNOPSIS:
A lone scientist maintains an underground bunker for the coming apocalypse. But after becoming prematurely isolated, he slowly begins to question his own reality and whether he is truly alone. TWENTY TWENTY-FOUR is an unsettling nightmare you’ll never be sure you’ve woken up from.
TWENTY TWENTY-FOUR is a film small on a budget, but big on ideas. Although it identifies itself as a suspenseful psychological thriller, at its deeper levels TWENTY TWENTY-FOUR is a film about human nature, paranoia, the darkness capable in all of us and how this shapes the world as we perceive it. TWENTY TWENTY-FOUR is a British film through and through, but its storyline, themes, and ideas are both universal and timely to a global audience. We believe that this film is pushing the envelope for the perception of a no-budget film. But more crucially as Independent filmmakers, it is our belief that TWENTY TWENTY-FOUR is also a document that with enough ambition and determination, it is possible for indie filmmakers to create a broad conceptual film on a low budget. As such, it is our belief, that TWENTY TWENTY-FOUR is the first of a new breed of no-budget films.
TWENTY TWENTY-FOUR was completed in May 2016, and premiered in London at the Empire Cinema, Leicester Square, with the British Independent Film Festival, where it was nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Music (for this festival it was rated 18 although official rating is to be confirmed). The film is also part of the official selection for the upcoming Southampton International Film Festival, where it has been nominated for four awards including, Best Thriller/Horror, Best Lead Actor, Best Cinematography, and Best Production Design. TWENTY TWENTY-FOUR currently has a festival strategy for this season going into next year.

10th Anniversary Re-Release of Die and Let Live: Press Release: "Brainwrap City Media and IWC Films are proud to announce the 10th-anniversary re-release of Die and Let Live the 2006 horror-comedy film from director Justin Channell (Winners Tape All: The Henderson Brothers Story, Faces of Schlock). Remastered from the original master elements, featuring never-before-seen bonus content and short films, Channell says this is the definitive release of the film.
Produced when Channell was just 18-years-old, Die and Let Live tells the tale of hopeless romantic teenager Benny Rodriguez (Joshua Lively) whose attempts to woo the girl of his dreams are interrupted by a horde of zombies that escaped from a nearby medical testing facility. Along with his best friend Scotty Smalls (Zane Crosby – who also created the films gory special effects), they have to fight for their lives against the flesh-eating undead – all while trying to make sense of their teenage social lives.
Mixing elements of Return of the Living Dead, Can’t Hardly Wait, and The Sandlot, Die and Let Live is an absurdist blend of horror and comedy that features appearances from Lloyd Kaufman (president of Troma Studios and the creator of The Toxic Avenger), Trent Haaga (Terror Firmer and writer of Deadgirl) and the voice of scream queen Debbie Rochon. The soundtrack features music from punk and ska legends such as Catch 22, The Planet Smashers and Big D and the Kids Table.
Upon its initial release, Film Threat called Die and Let Live “the funniest zombie teen romance movie ever made” and it has grown to become a minor cult classic among fans of microbudget horror films.
For the 10th anniversary, Channell’s label Brainwrap City Media has partnered with VHX to re-release Die and Let Live through a digitally remastered video-on-demand package. The film itself was mastered from the original 24p MiniDV master files and all of the original bonus content – such as a 40-minute behind-the-scenes featurette, deleted scenes, commentary tracks and more - from the films 2008 DVD release from Heretic Films will be included.
Exclusive to the 10th-anniversary digital package, Channell also went back to the camera master tapes and found over an hour of never-before-seen outtakes that provide fans an even closer look at the behind-the-scenes shenanigans of the making of the film. Plus, footage from alternate takes scenes that were later reshot or scrapped have been reconstructed and included.
In addition to the 10th-anniversary package, there is also a deluxe edition available for sale with bonus two hours of rare IWC Films short films including Channell’s high-school era ghost movie Killing Gregory, the Troma-esque zombie-baby comedy A Fetal Mistake and the haunted movie theater satire Mike Wuz Here. Two experimental 8mm films, The Best Saturday Ever and Monorail, have both been remastered in HD with scans from the original film elements.
The 10th-anniversary package is available exclusively at http://dieandletlive10.vhx.tv and costs just $6.99, while the deluxe package is $8.99. A movie-only package is also available for $3.99 and fans that just want to see the exclusive 10th-anniversary content can buy it for $1.99. All editions allow for unlimited streaming and DRM-free downloads.
The full list of extras is included below:
