While its upcoming fifth season was expected to be its final one, Netflix has now revealed that they've renewed Lucifer for a sixth and "final, final" season.

Announced on the official Lucifer Twitter account (see below), the news comes one day after a recap video revealed an August 21st release date for season 5, part 1.

Part 1 of the fifth season is expected to include eight episodes, with an additional eight episodes being released as part 2 (which does not have a premiere date). The number of episodes for the sixth and final season has yet to be announced.

We'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated on future announcements regarding the show, which stars Tom Ellis and is based on the DC Comics character from the minds of Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg.
