The Tall Man and his flesh-slicing spheres returns to theaters this fall when Bad Robot and Don Coscarelli’s 4K restoration of 1979's Phantasm hits select cinemas on September 24th, aka Art House Theater Day. To help celebrate the upcoming screenings, a Phantasm: Remastered poster has been created that offers a new take on familiar faces from the seminal movie.

Created by artist Aaron Lea (who also made the one-sheet for Coscarelli’s Bubba Ho-Tep), the new Phantasm: Remastered poster was revealed on Birth.Movies.Death., and it is now available to order on the online store Phactory. According to Birth.Movies.Death., raffles to win the poster will take place during select Art House Day screenings of Phantasm: Remastered.

Following its showings on Art House Day (which will include a new behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming Phantasm: Ravager, coming out in select theaters on October 7th) and at this September's Fantastic FestPhantasm: Remastered will be released on Blu-ray and DVD later this year by Well Go USA Entertainment.

You can view the Phantasm: Remastered poster below, and in case you missed them, check out our SXSW review of the film, as well as our interview with writer/director Don Coscarelli.

From Well Go USA's Press Release: "Phantasm: Remastered came into being when filmmaker J.J. Abrams, a fan of the original, wanted to screen the film for his team at Bad Robot Productions- only to find the available prints in terrible shape. Working on the premises of Bad Robot with their expert staff, director Don Coscarelli was invited by J.J. to supervise a meticulous 4K digital remaster using their state-of-the-art tools. This included a brand-new 5.1 audio mix using the original stems, ensuring Phantasm will forever be available to scare the hell out of generations to come with perfect picture and sound."
