Scream TV Series in Development

2012/06/04 15:37:21 +00:00 | Jonathan James

After venturing into TV horror with Teen Wolf, it is being reported that MTV is now developing a weekly TV series based on the Scream franchise. According to TVLine, former MTV executives Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley are working on the project and are currently in the process of finding a writer to take on the pilot episode.

There is no other information at this time, so we don't know if the TV series will include any of the story or characters from the past films. It is also not known if Wes Craven or Kevin Williamson will be involved with the series development. With the Scream film franchise earning more than $500 million globally and a loyal fanbase, we'd hope that MTV is looking to keep them involved in some capacity. We'll post an update to this story as soon as more information becomes available.
