**Updated: Premiere date changed to October 8th** Supernatural was officially renewed for another season back in February, but the CW has now announced the Supernatural Season 9 premiere date. The first episode of Supernatural Season 9 will air on Tuesday, October 15th at 9pm. It will be preceded by The Originals, The Vampire Diaries' new spin-off series.

If you're looking to catch up on Supernatural Season 8, it is being released to Blu-ray and DVD on September 10th. It was also recently revealed that Supernatural will return once again to the San Diego Comic-Con next month:

"SUNDAY, JULY 21: Supernatural (Tuesdays 9/8c The CW): Returning to Hall H are cast members Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins and Mark A. Sheppard with executive producers Jeremy Carver and Robert Singer."
