Fans of The Walking Dead comic book series have been waiting to see The Governor since the TV series was first announced. Now we have our first look at David Morrissey as The Governor from The Walking Dead Season 3.
Robert Kirkman via TV Guide: "Seeing The Walking Dead come to life on AMC has been a real thrill for me, obviously, and moving into Season 3 I'm even more excited than ever because now I feel like we're really getting to 'the good stuff,'" Kirkman tells TVGuide.com. "Having The Governor in the mix is going to fundamentally change the show in all kinds of awesome and exiting ways. And David Morrissey totally rocks!"
David Morrissey was cast as The Governor back in February. For who haven't read the comic book series, The Governor is the leader of the town of Woodbury, which will be featured in the third (and possibly fourth) seasons of The Walking Dead. As the original casting press release mentions, he "becomes the chief antagonist for Rick Grimes and his group". We'll stop right there to avoid getting into spoilers, but we can't wait to see his performance in the new season. We'll hear from David Morrissey and see much more of The Walking Dead Season 3 at Comic-Con in July. Until then, enjoy the photo below.
