Welcome back for Day 8 of Daily Dead’s fourth annual Holiday Gift Guide, readers! Once again, our goal is to help you navigate through the horrors of the 2016 shopping season with our tips on unique gift ideas, and we’ll hopefully help you save a few bucks over the next few weeks, too. For today’s edition of the gift guide, we’ll be highlighting a new collection of art from Matthew Therrien featuring many of our favorite final girls and survivors in horror, the steelbook edition of Dario Argento’s Phenomena, the Never Sleep Again book, Terror Threads, Creep Case, and a whole lot more.
This year’s Holiday Gift Guide is sponsored by several amazing companies, including Mondo, Anchor Bay Entertainment, DC Entertainment, and Magnolia Home Entertainment, who have all donated an assortment of goodies to help get you into the spirit of the season. Daily Dead also recently teamed up with Texas-based artist Dustin Pace of Duddy in Motion to create an amazing Stranger Things print (see below) that all of our giveaway winners will receive in our amazing prize packs that include movies, graphic novels, and much more. One lucky winner will also receive the limited edition box set of The Walking Dead Season 6!
For a chance to win one of our 2016 Holiday Gift Guide prize packs, send an email to contest@dailydead.com with “Holiday Gift Guide” in the subject line, and be sure to include your full name and mailing address as well.

Books:
Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy: The Making of Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street
The definitive story of the making of Wes Craven's 1984 classic horror film.
Never Sleep Again is the ultimate chronicle of one of the most important horror films of the 20th century. Hutson takes fans deeper into the boiler room of the original A Nightmare on Elm Street than they've ever dared go, from exploring what spurred mastermind Craven to craft his watershed film to the beginnings of Robert Shaye's revolutionary New Line Cinema. Never Sleep Again features dozens of exclusive cast and crew interviews, in addition to thoughts from those who worked with Craven and Shaye prior to their Nightmare.
This extensively researched, comprehensive look back is the definitive account of the film that began what many have called the best, most frightening and imaginative horror franchise in motion picture history.
Includes hundreds of black and white photos.
Artwork:
For today’s artwork gift ideas, I wanted to showcase this amazing collection I recently caught on Twitter a few weeks ago called “Final Girls & Cinema Survivors Series” from Toronto-based artist Matthew Therrien, who works under the company banner of Matthew Therrien Illustration. I’ve only featured several designs below, but be sure to check out all of the prints HERE, as he’s done a great job of paying tribute to some fantastic longtime icons and some recent familiar faces as well.
Vinyl Pick of the Day:
We’ve featured several of Waxwork Records' 2016 releases on this year’s Holiday Gift Guide, but I thought for today, I’d share their amazing subscription service, which is currently available for 2017. With your subscription, you get guaranteed copies of some awesome soundtrack titles—Creepshow 2, Evil Dead 2, The Babadook, Don’t Look Now, and Darkman—as well as some other exclusive goodies you won’t get anywhere else. If you’re looking for a special gift for the horror fan in your life, you can’t go wrong with Waxwork’s subscription service.
Apparel:
I’ve only recently become acquainted with the apparel designs of Terror Threads, but I really dig what I’ve seen so far. If you have a Shining fan on your gift list this year, check out this great “Here’s Santa” sweatshirt, and if you know a slasher enthusiast who could use another horror-themed shirt (can’t we all?), maybe this Blood Brothers T-Shirt will do the trick.
Enamel Pins:
Hero Complex Gallery is well-known for their incredible collection of artwork, but many may not know that they regularly release enamel pins created by a variety of talented notable artists. If you’re on the hunt for some genre-related stocking stuffers, I really dug HCG’s Lost Boys tribute pin by Matt Tobin and both the Popcorn Gremlin and Masked Gremlin from Rhys Cooper.
Collectibles:
Looking for some way to give your phone a monster-ific upgrade? Then be sure to take a look at the goods over at Creep Case, a company that specializes in badass phone cases for all kinds of devices. Check out some of their current designs—Stitches, Bad Mojo, and Rib Case—and be sure to keep an eye out for future phone cases from Creep Case, too (they regularly release new ones throughout the year).
Another company I wanted to mention today is Custom Converse, who can make custom designs on Converse shoes to cater to your own personal tastes, which would make for an excellent and unique holiday gift to give this December. Custom Converse is based in the UK, but they do ship worldwide, but do be sure to get your orders in early to allow for proper shipping time.
Kids Korner:
Your parents, siblings and neighbors have all been trying to bite you. It is really getting in the way of your playtime. You got a baseball and a narf gun - it's go time! THEY need a time out! Zombies!!! Jr. is a zombie game for the whole family. It contains 15 map tiles, 30 cards, 50 zombies, plastic brain tokens, "POW" tokens, player pawns and dice.
Etsy Spotlight:
If you’ve been looking to add some horror flavor to your home decorating, then you’ll definitely want to take a look at the various wares from Spooky Shades, including their Psycho lampshade. If you’re looking for something more on the kitschy side, they also make this Circus Freak lampshade. And if you’re on the hunt for something other than lamp adornments, Spooky Shades also has a great assortment of horror coasters available.
