Stranger Things may not be coming back until Halloween, but a new image from the second season makes it feel like autumn (and trick-or-treating time) is in full swing.
Unveiled by EW, the Stranger Things 2 image features the gang—Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), and Will (Noah Schnapp)—back together in Ghostbusters gear on Halloween night in Hawkins.
With Stranger Things 2 the main focus of this week's issue of Entertainment Weekly, the magazine's site revealed plot details for the second season, which will start by taking viewers back to Hawkins on Halloween, almost one year after the events of the first season. Back from the Upside Down, Will is still seeing disturbing things from the paranormal dimension.
Will's mom, Joyce (Winona Ryder), meanwhile, is in a relationship with Bob (played by Sean Astin), a man she went to high school with (and the owner of the local RadioShack, based on a previous report).
Chief of police Hopper (David Harbour) is trying to cover up some of the crazier occurrences of the previous season to keep Joyce and the children safe, while Mike and Nancy (Natalia Dyer) are having a tough time dealing with the loss of Barb (Shannon Purser) and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), respectively.
New characters Billy (Dacre Montgomery) and Max (Sadie Sink) are also on the scene, and although Max looks to be a nice addition to the younger group of friends on the show, Stranger Things co-creator Matt Duffer had something ominous to say about Billy:
“Stephen King always has really great human villains. The evil in the real world is often as bad or worse than the supernatural evil, so we wanted to introduce a character like that.”
Also new to the series is Dustin's pet from another dimension and Paul Reiser's Dr. Owens, who is the new operator of the Hawkins Laboratory. To learn more, visit EW, and in case you missed it, check out our previous coverage of Stranger Things:
