Similar to Rob Zombie, Milla Jovovich has also been using social networks to keep us all updated on the latest developments on Resident Evil: Retribution. Today, she confirmed that Leon Kennedy, the popular main character from the Resident Evil 2 and 4 video games, will appear in the movie.

This week's casting update confirmed that Johann Urb was cast as “the leader of the Resistance, who teams with Jovovich’s Alice character as she battles the Umbrella Corporation and the swarm of undead". Milla Jovovich has confirmed that he will be playing the role of Leon:

"AND if u checked out my vid yesterday from the table reading u wld hve noticed Johann Urb! He is our Leon Kennedy n looks jst like him BTW!!"

Resident Evil: Retribution stars Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Colin Salmon, Sienna Guillory, Boris Kodjoe, Oded Fehr, Shawn Roberts, Kevin Durand, and Johann Urb. Paul W.S. Anderson is back in the directors chair, with filming starting in Toronto. The movie will be released to theaters on September 14th, 2012.
